some of us were talking about this a few days ago, we were just saying that most of us don't use the feature, and there for should be removed, and save the space for a feature that's likely to be used more. person watch is grate, because you know who is logging in, but...who really uses it?. discuss. should it stay or should it go
I think it's a great feature for premiums accept someone mentioned a few days ago on a quick note that they were blocked by the person they were watching and it wasn't until they were assured that it wasn't that important to be watched they took them off ignore. I forgot who it was but since I'm a standard user right now I guess I don't have that luxery.
I used it when it was first put on the site. There were two people I really liked talking to and wanted to know when they were logged on. But after awhile I got tired of getting all the e-mails telling me these people had logged on, so I took them off of it. Then later I decided to check to see if anyone was watching me. It kind of creeped me out that someone I have never talked to had me on person watch. I couldn't imagine why they were watching me when they never talked to me. So because it gave me a creepy feeling, I decided never to use it because I don't want to be responsible for creeping anyone out.
oh god it's just a stupid email notice telling you the person's logged in. Personally I wonder what good that info is to anyone but it's certainly far from harmful or stalkerish or as previously stated creepy. My only thing is perhaps that feature would be useless if the person only logs in to zone by phone. In that case it's stupid to watch them as you'll probably never get the notice. Maybe they can put a thing for zone by phone. Then again, only some would bennifit from it as I don't really get on zone by phone so telling me some asshole's logged in to it is useless. Besides you can check who's on line faster than any notice is good for. You don't even need to log in. It shows who's on line as you open the page and as you refresh so does it. Besides people sometimes email me to come out here and talk to them so if anything they're watching me.
i agree, and who says that just because you get an email, that you're actually going to be by your computer?. by the timeyou get back, maybe the person loged out. in tghat case, it would be pointless
then it's funny in the fuckin email itself it states that you won't get too many of these messages because it'll fill your inbox. Well believe it or not if I didn't clear my email account that I especially set up for the zone, I'd have billions of messages. Point notices and fuckin board posts, stop it already I don't care. I can see who sends me points first of all, and I check the damn boards myself. So stop fuckin filling my box. I could only imagine the person watch notices. I'll bet those add up too. I was thinking of either blocking or separating the trash I get from the zone but then I'm afraid of missing important shit (not that anything really comes up) So now that I think about it, person watch is yet another fuckin excuse for these bastards to spam you. You know I woke up this morning and had over 20 fuckin messages about points. Some of them were older messages and I already spent those points! What the fuck at least be up to date with it! goddamn!
and it's not like I forgot yeah I know this shit is autimated. Another reason it's annoying. These assholes aren't even sending the emails themselves. Fuckin stop it already
I personally love this feature since there is only a selection of people I talk to on here.
if you don't want person watch, don't use it. it's that simple. don't want messages from the zone? turn on vacation mode or stop subscribing to topics and disable the mail about new private mail. you have control over what you get from the site
